I think many of pre-scenario HSY’s dating problems stem from being really self conscious. Instead of taking up as little space as possible and becoming exaggeratedly normal like KDJ, she puffed herself up as much as she could because…heh…could a self conscious person do THIS??

She became an award winning author not by writing something from the heart, but by being clever and knowing what readers want to see. Her stories were ultimately vapid and empty, and she wasn’t bothered by criticism because there was none of “her” in that writing. She just had to write what people wanted to see and bask in the praise and money.

I think she tried to date people who she perceived as “in her league” ie accomplished, hot, charming, rich, but she either found them pretentious and condescending when they found out she was a webnovel author, or realized over time that this person would never understand her. All these relationships fizzled out.

But not because of Han Sooyoung! SHE broke up with THEM. None of them were up to her standard. Yes…she just hasn’t encountered someone who is her equal. She’s sure that her fated someone must even smarter and hotter and richer. It must be that, because otherwise, it means there’s something wrong with her and it makes her unlovable

Now, if only this default profile pic kimdokjabunchofnumbers guy would stop DMing her. There’s a new chapter of that shit novel he keeps accusing her of plagiarizing. He’s probably read it by now. Maybe she’ll open it just to downvote whatever stupid comment he surely left…
